We are currently seeking a Maintenance Support Services Superintendent to join our team. This is a three-year maximum term full time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 21/14 FIFO Roster from any Australian capital city.
Reporting to the Manager Maintenance you will be responsible for leading the maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability improvement functions across the site.
The opportunity
- Leading the maintenance planning and scheduling team to deliver effective short, medium, and long-term maintenance plans.
- Developing and optimising preventive, predictive and shutdown maintenance schedules.
- Ensuring alignment of maintenance plans with production requirements, statutory obligation and budget constraints.
- Coordinating shutdown planning, resource allocation and critical path execution.
- Implementing reliability engineering practice and defect elimination programs.
- Monitoring asset performance through KPIs.
- Championing the application of Reliability Centered Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance.
- Providing input into life-of-asset strategies and capital replacement planning.
- Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes, systems, and cost efficiency.
- Implementing digital and data-driven tools to improve reliability outcomes.
- Championing innovation and the adoption of new technologies in maintenance and reliability practices.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Managing planning and reliability reporting, providing insights on asset performance, backlog, forecasted downtime, and budget adherence.
- Delivering monthly reports on reliability performance and strategic improvement initiatives.

- Certificate III Mechanical Engineering.
- Current driver’s license.
- Understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks with high performance goals.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
- Previous expat experience in a developing country & challenging environment would be desirable.
- Diploma of Leadership & Management would be desirable.
