We are currently seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to join our team. This is a three-year maximum term full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 21/14 FIFO Roster from any Australian capital city.
Reporting to the Manager Reliability you will be responsible for leading the Planning & Reliability function, ensuring effective maintenance planning, scheduling, reliability and defect elimination across the Process Plant. You will also provide technical leadership to optimise asset performance, maintenance outcomes and risk-based Plant Maintenance strategies.
The opportunity
- Managing schedule compliance, backlog, Plant Maintenance compliance and materials kitting performance against agreed targets.
- Developing risk-based Plant Maintenance strategies using Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis principles, ensuring alignment with Asset Management Plans.
- Implementing RCM improvements and maintaining accurate PM strategies and master data within Pronto.
- Prioritising reliability improvement, condition monitoring and defect elimination activities based on asset criticality, risk and cost impact.
- Supporting the maintenance strategy for fixed plant, ensuring maintenance and reliability activities are aligned with asset criticality and business priorities.
- Ensuring asset health is monitored and adverse asset conditions are identified, prioritised and addressed in a timely manner to prevent breakdowns.
- Monitoring team performance against agreed KPIs, including schedule compliance, backlog, Plant Maintenance compliance, defect elimination, shutdown/turnaround performance and budget adherence.

We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience with CMMS fundamentals for the maintenance of fixed, mobile plant and infrastructure within an industrial environment.
- Understanding of reliability engineering fundamentals to support the implementation of RCM principles.
- Understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling maturity concepts.
- The ability to interpret safety, maintenance and operational engineering standards for fixed and mobile plants.
- Previous experience in project management.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
- Proactive with an ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals for the review of mechanical structural, electrical an instrumentation capital works would be desirable.
- Engineering, mathematics, modelling and computing skills would be desirable.
