Control Room Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring safe work practices, own health and safety and all other workers by identifying hazards and ensuring issues and risks are reported.
• Performs equipment monitoring and management via Citect and Pi, problematic troubleshooting and compiling of shift reports / data as required.
• Keeps Processing Supervisor and Processing management informed of activities including unusual plant/equipment performance or concerns.
• Provides instruction to field Technicians relating to status of plant and adjustments required. Continuously evaluates plant performance and escalates issues.
• Problem solves plant performance issues and provides feedback to Supervisor. Escalates breakdowns to Process Supervisor upon equipment breakdown.
• Ensure plant is operated in efficient an manner to maximise recovery and throughout in support of the delivery of the Processing Operations plans.
• Assist Supervisor with crew management in absence of leading hand

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required:

•  Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values
• Attained Grade 12 Certificate but not essential.
• Ten (10) years experience in Process operations with at least five (5) years in a similar role in a gold mine.
• Ability to operate and work in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to write and read emails, utilise MS office tools such as Excel, Word and Teams.
• Experienced Citect and Pi user.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Willingness and ability to relieve Process Supervisor or Leading Hand during absence.
• Certificate III in Mineral Processing or equivalent.
