Control Room Operator
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring safe work practices, own health and safety and all other workers by identifying hazards and ensuring issues and risks are reported.
- Performs equipment monitoring and management via Citect and Pi, problematic troubleshooting and compiling of shift reports / data as required.
- Keeps Processing Supervisor and Processing management informed of activities including unusual plant/equipment performance or concerns.
- Provides instruction to field Technicians relating to status of plant and adjustments required. Continuously evaluates plant performance and escalates issues.
- Problem solves plant performance issues and provides feedback to Supervisor. Escalates breakdowns to Process Supervisor upon equipment breakdown.
- Ensure plant is operated in efficient an manner to maximise recovery and throughout in support of the delivery of the Processing Operations plans.
- Assist Supervisor with crew management in absence of leading hand
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required:
- Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values
- Attained Grade 12 Certificate but not essential.
- Ten (10) years experience in Process operations with at least five (5) years in a similar role in a gold mine.
- Ability to operate and work in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to write and read emails, utilise MS office tools such as Excel, Word and Teams.
- Experienced Citect and Pi user.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Willingness and ability to relieve Process Supervisor or Leading Hand during absence.
- Certificate III in Mineral Processing or equivalent.
