Loader Operator

We are currently seeking a Loader Operator to join our team on a permanent full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 15/13 Roster from Kavieng, Rabaul, Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen, Buka, Madang, Goroka, Alotau, Wapenamanda, Popondetta, Hoskins, Wewak, Vanimo, or Tabar group of Islands. (Locals are encouraged to apply).

Reporting to the Processing Supervisor, the primary purpose of this role is to maintain required production rates at Simberi Process Plant, through safe, efficient operation of mobile surface equipment in specified areas of work including but not limited to RoM pad operations.

The opportunity

Technical Accountabilities

• Monitor and maintain compliance with Company safe operating procedures.
• Providing efficient and effective support through mobile equipment operation at the Gwalia Process Plant to ensure that the plant can always operate optimally.
•  Contributing to the Team to ensure that the Processing Department delivers to plan in respect of production, gold recovery and cost per tonne
• Communicate employee concerns to Supervisor.
• Recommend improvements to safe operating procedures.
• Participate and promote Safety activities and inspections.
• Perform other duties as directed.
• Promote awareness of equipment housekeeping and safety inspection of the workplace.

Essential

• Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values
• At least five years relevant work experience
• Current PNG Drivers Licence
• High School certificate
• Good communication and teamwork skills 

Desirable

• Previous experience in a similar role
