We are currently seeking 2x Graduate Geologist to join our team in a Permanent Full-Time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 15/13 Roster from Kavieng, Rabaul, Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen, Buka, Madang, Goroka, Alotau, Wapenamanda, Popondetta, Hoskins, Wewak, Vanimo or Tabar group of Islands. Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, this role will be undertaking effective collection, coordination and communication of geological data within the Geology team and to the Mine Technical Services Planning and Mining Operations Teams for production planning/execution, scheduling and mine design in a timely and accurate manner.

The Opportunity
Technical Accountabilities
- Monitoring and minimising dilution impacts on ore block digging, ensuring ore delivery to correct destination.
- Ensuring compliance to blend plan and reporting any deviations to plan.
- Ensuring placards and demarcation in field is to standard and daily updating of dig faces is completed for shift handover
- Monitoring ROM stockpile control and feed to Mill as per blend plan.
- Completing post-blast mapping on benches and wall batters to designated KPI requirements, maintaining both quality and quantity standards.
- Tracking drill pattern progress daily and inputting data into daily tracking sheets. Visiting RC rigs daily, completing safety observations and ensuring sound QAQC for sampling collection and recording.
- Completing RC chip logging duties and data upload.
- Validating and importing RC collar, geology, sample data and assay files as required.
- Completing daily data entry requirements timeously and accurately in first two hours of shift for daily production and mill data in Daily Grade Tracking sheet
Scheduling accountabilities
- Managing effective use of available resources, including own time, in support of the delivery of Grade Control physicals and contributing to improvement projects.
- Ensuring QAQC on daily data analysis and deliverables.
- Meeting the Grade Control deliverables for weekly and monthly planning schedules.
People accountabilities
- Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements and taking appropriate professional development actions.
