We are currently seeking a Training Administrator to join our team. permanent full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 21/14 Roster from Kavieng, Rabaul, Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen, Madang, Goroka, Alotau, Wapenamanda, Popondetta, Hoskins, Wewak, Vanimo, or Tabar group of Islands. (Locals are encouraged to apply).

The Training Administrator will be responsible for coordinating training programs, maintaining training records, and supporting the development and delivery of employee training initiatives. This role is essential for ensuring a smooth training experience and helping our team achieve their professional development goals.

Everyone at St Barbara Limited is required to understand and act in accordance with St Barbara’s values and policies and meet all relevant internal and external compliance obligations. The role incumbent and manager will identify and review the specific compliance requirements of the role.

The Opportunity

Technical accountabilities

  • Organize and schedule internal and external training sessions, workshops, and site general induction.
  • Train the trainers to use IDNOW to print ID cards and Permits
  • Printing of IDs and Permit cards on time without any delay
  • Conduct Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) training for the workforce
  • Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, materials, evaluations, and certifications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for training-related inquiries, providing excellent customer service to employees and trainers.
  • Handle logistical arrangements for training events, including venue selection, equipment setup, and materials distribution.
  • Track and analyze training metrics and feedback to assess program effectiveness and suggest improvements to the Trainers.
  • Ensure training programs comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Ensure to contribute two hazards and two Visual Leadership Observations (VLO) monthly
  • Ensure the End Of Month (EOM) report is submitted at the end of each month
  • Work closely with various departments to identify training needs and support employee development initiatives and providing training Metrix every month.
  • Ensure Monthly training Schedule is sent out to Departments every month
  • Ensure Induction list sent site-wide mid-week

Scheduling accountabilities

  • Managing effective use of available resources, including own time, in support of the delivery of the Training team.

People accountabilities

  • Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements; and taking appropriate professional development actions.

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Training Administration
  • Strong ability to work effectively within a team
  • Well developed PC skills and computer literacy
  • Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks
  • High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals
  • Good computer skills, report writing and presentation

  • Administrative Qualification
