Regional Projects | Canberra Branch | Tier 1 Electrical Contractor

Star Group is growing its Canberra branch, and we need an Electrical Estimator who takes ownership of our regional tenders and negotiates the right price for the success of our projects. 

Our Opportunity

You'll bring accuracy and commercial judgement to every bid, working across the diverse project types Star Group specialises in. It is a deadline-driven role that requires close attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that all project elements are estimated in accordance with standards, project specifications, and tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete estimates independently for Star Group bids and projects
• Collaborate as part of a wider team across all tenders
• Deliver accurate, quality-assured submissions under tight deadlines
• Scrutinise tender documentation to ensure allowances are correct and complete
• Estimate Design & Construct tenders end-to-end
• Estimate across Electrical Construction, Industrial, Fitout and Communications disciplines
• Use Star Group's estimating systems and software

About You

• Electrical trade or relevant qualification — essential
• 5+ years in a qualified electrical trade role in construction — preferred
• 5+ years' estimating experience in electrical construction/industrial — essential
• Confident in estimating software
• Strong stakeholder communication, internal and external
• Sustained accuracy and attention to detail under deadline pressure
• Proven bid and tender process experience
• A value-engineering mindset — you look for the smarter way to price the job
