Gymnastics Victoria (GV) is a leading state sporting association, and the governing body for gymnastics in Victoria. Gymnastics in Victoria is a strong industry that develops essential early years foundation skills and provides pathways for athletes through seven Gymsports.

The role

The Finance and Risk Committee Member role is suited to individuals with experience and understanding of accounting standards, financial management, audit and risk oversight, preferably within not-for-profit organisations.

The position provides independent oversight of:

• financial performance
• compliance and governance, including reviewing financial statements
• monitoring organisational risks, policies and delegations
• ensuring compliance with legal, taxation, employment and workplace health and safety obligations.

Previous board or committee experience is desirable, along with the confidence to critically assess information and ask probing questions. CPA, CA or equivalent qualifications are highly regarded.

The Independent Member on the subcommittee is a voluntary position, with the term from the date of appointment to the end of the first board meeting following the 2027 Annual General Meeting - with the possibility of re-appointment.
