The Australian Underwater Federation (AUF) is the governing body for underwater sports and amateur diving in Australia.

The AUF is the umbrella organisation for the following sports and recreations: Fin Swimming, SCUBA, Apnoea/Freediving, Snorkel, Coaching/Training, Spearfishing, Underwater Hockey, Underwater Rugby.

The Role:

In accordance with the AUF Constitution, nominations are now invited from eligible individuals who wish to be considered for election as an Elected Director of AUF with effect from the conclusion of the AUF Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on Saturday 10th October 2026.

6 Elected Director positions are available to be filled at the 2026 AGM. The candidates elected to fill these positions will serve a term of three (3) years.

Criteria:

The five (5) identified preferred skills and experience are set out below are in no particular order:

• Tech, Data and Digital Expertise
• Finance and Governance
• Audit and Risk
• Sustainability, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
• Sports Innovation Expertise 

All candidates must have a genuine interest in, and a broad understanding of, Underwater Sports in Australia or the broader sporting industry, strong business acumen supported by demonstrable strategic aptitude, financial literacy, a sound understanding of good governance and well-developed communication skills.

Completed and signed Nomination Forms (including the signed Consent to Act as a Director and Disclosure Form and any other accompanying documents) should be lodged with the AUF Returning Officer Ray Horn via email at dawesville18@hotmail.com within the prescribed time period for lodgment.

Please also note that any nominations received prior to the opening of the nomination period will be rejected.
