Quarry Manager – Penrose Sandstone Quarry

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safe and efficient daily operations of the quarry, ensuring a strong safety-first culture
  • Ensure operational standards and procedures are met and continually improved, while monitoring and maintaining quality standards
  • Manage and regulate site expenditure in line with budget targets
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements, while providing active leadership and developing a performance-driven team

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Extensive experience in sand quarrying/mining, including load & haul, crushing, screening, washing, and managing silt/by-products, with the ability to operate earthmoving and crushing/screening equipment
  • Strong, hands-on leadership with expertise in mine planning, staff training, and implementing maintenance programs
  • Qualifications in Surface Extraction Operations/Management (Cert IV or Diploma); Quarry Manager Certificate of Competence (Tier 1 highly regarded)
  • Proven P&L and budget management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills, with solid computer literacy
  • Strong WHS focus with thorough understanding of Safety Management Systems, legislation, and safe work practices
