The Role
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all electrical and instrumentation systems across the site. You will play a key role in maintaining plant availability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous production through high-quality preventative and reactive maintenance.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a trade-qualified electrician with strong experience in quarrying, mining, or heavy industrial environments who enjoys balancing technical work with coordination, problem solving and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and complete electrical maintenance activities across quarry plant and infrastructure
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to optimise asset performance
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime and restore operations quickly
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Production to ensure minimal disruption
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in line with compliance and site requirements
- Engage and manage external contractors to support maintenance and project work
- Support electrical upgrades, projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote and uphold strong safety, environmental and compliance standards across site
- Mentor and support the development of team members and contractors
What You Will Need to Succeed
- Trade qualified Electrician (A-grade or equivalent)
- Proven experience in quarrying, mining or heavy industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of crushing and screening plant and fixed processing equipment
- Demonstrated experience in fault finding, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to plan and prioritise maintenance activities in a production environment
- Strong commitment to safety, risk management and compliance
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
- High Risk, Working at Heights or EWP tickets
- Current LVR/CPR certification
- Supervisory or leadership training
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Surface Operations (or willingness to obtain)
