The role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our inclusive team in the position of Quarry Supervisor based at our Quarry in Hartley.

As Quarry Supervisor, you will report directly to the Quarry Manager and play an integral role in the Quarry achieving its operational objectives, while ensuring site requirements for compliance and safety are maintained. This will be achieved by effectively planning quarrying operations, whilst also focusing on safety and the reduction of our environmental impact.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Quarry Manager in maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards across site
  • Supervise and monitor the site, including Drill and Blast, crushing and screening operations and large modern fleet of mobile equipment.
  • Coordinate and supervise daily work tasks through toolbox meetings and monitoring of the day shift team
  • Identify improvements that will reduce costs while ensuring all systems are followed and all work is conducted safely
  • Identify, resource and coordinate planned maintenance while minimising impact on production
  • Ensure monthly production and performance KPI’s are on target
  • Maintain the Quarry’s quality systems to ensure customer requirements and satisfaction outcomes are met
  • Promote a safe work culture through visible leadership and hazard and incident reporting
  • Maintain and implement site safety management system and company Policies / Procedures 

What you will need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a supervisory position in a manufacturing, mining, or production environment
  • Cert IV or Diploma in Surface Extraction Operations will be highly regarded
  • Current certificate of competence to manage a teir 1 quarry (or desire to obtain) would be of the highest regard and would be reflected in the Remuneration package if successful in obtaining certificate of competence
  • Proven experience in the Quarry and or relevant industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Have strong computer skills and understanding of maintenance systems etc
  • Mobile plant experience/tickets desirable
