Leading Hand

The role

An exciting leadership opportunity exists at our Rockbank Quarry. Performing a variety of tasks, the Leading Hand is responsible for maintaining production during the shift by focusing on safety, monitoring product quality and plant performance, operating a variety of mobile plant as required as well as fault finding to maximise plant efficiency.

The successful candidate will need great communication, reporting, safety leadership and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities 

• Monitor the performance of a variety of mobile plant (crushers, screens, conveyors)
• Maximize plant production and availability
• Report all incidents and hazards through the relevant systems
• End of shift reports

What you will need to succeed

• High level of commitment to safety, quality and the environment
• Previous experience in leading people
• Ideally have a mechanical aptitude
• Certificate 4 in Surface Extraction Operations or similar (preferable)
• Front End Loader, Excavator, Dump Truck, Watercart Competency (preferable)

Our business

Central Pre-Mix Concrete is an integrated concrete and aggregate operation. We own five concrete plants, a hard rock aggregate quarry & modern batch plants located at Deer Park, Campbellfield, Hallam, Port Melbourne and Gisborne.
