Mechanic | Automotive Diagnostic Technician

Smart AVR is a fast-growing national automotive diagnostics business specialising in advanced vehicle systems and cutting-edge technology. We’re expanding our Melbourne team and seeking experienced Diagnostic Technicians and Qualified Mechanics to join our workshop.

The Roles

We are hiring for:

• Automotive Diagnostic Technician – complex fault finding, advanced diagnostics, electrical/system troubleshooting
• Automotive Technician / Mechanic – servicing, repairs, inspections and general mechanical work

You’ll work with modern vehicles, advanced diagnostic tools, and a highly skilled team in a well-equipped workshop.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults to manufacturer standards
• Using OEM scan tools, diagnostic software, and workshop equipment
• Completing servicing, repairs, and accurate job documentation
• Working collaboratively with technicians and service teams
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and workmanship

About You

• 3+ years’ experience (Diagnostic Tech) OR trade-qualified Mechanic
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
• Confident using diagnostic tools and electrical systems knowledge
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Valid driver’s licence
