Skill Hire are seeking enthusiastic and hard-working individuals to join our team as a Boilermaking/Welding Apprentice. If you are passionate about working in the manufacturing and engineering industry, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.
As a Welding/Boilermaking Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills, including reading technical drawings, welding, metal fabrication, and much more. This is a hands-on role that will see you working on real projects and gaining valuable experience in the field.
Wages for apprentices based in the Henderson Manufacturing Yard:
Standard Apprentice:
- 1st Year Apprentice - $16.96
- 2nd Year Apprentice - $22.21
- 3rd Year Apprentice - $30.29
- 4th Year Apprentice - $35.54
Adult Apprentice:
- 1st Year - 3rd Year Apprentice - $30.29
- 4th Year Apprentice - $35.54

Requirements:
- Current WA Driver's License
- Passion and interest in the trade
- Positive and reliable attitude
- Willingness to listen and learn

- Willingness to work long days, including weekends if needed
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical/drug and alcohol screening
- Certificate II in Engineering (pre-apprenticeship) or ongoing apprenticeship in Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication
What You Will Be Doing: As a Boilermaking/Welding Apprentice, you will be responsible for:
- Welding and fabrication tasks
- Grinding and preparing surfaces
- Maintaining equipment to meet quality standards
- Working with the supervisor to prioritize daily tasks to meet deadlines and procedures
- Following OHS policies and procedures
- Completing other tasks as requested by management
- Operating workshop machines
- Using hand and power tools
- Thermal cutting, measuring, and technical drawing
- Welding with metal, gas, flux core, and tungsten
Operational Working Hours: Mon-Fri 6AM-4:30PM and Sat 6AM-1PM with free onsite parking.
