Skill Hire are now accepting expressions of interest for our Talent Community for individuals looking to undertake an Apprenticeship in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

As part of our Apprenticeship Program, you will receive on-going support, training, and development opportunities through our dedicated Skill-Development Consultants and most importantly, our valued Host Employers. Together we are committed to supporting your success.

General Responsibilities during a Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship:

• Service and repair mechanical parts including engines, gearboxes, clutches, and breaks
• Diagnosing faults
• Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, battery testing and replacing parts
• Reading and understanding car / manufacturers manuals
• Adhering to safety protocols

Eligibility Criteria:

• WA Driver's license with reliable transport
• Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology (Light Vehicle Servicing)
• Ability to pass and complete Pre-Employment Requirements such as aptitude /drug and alcohol testing
• Strong willingness to learn and further develop current skill set.

Wages:

Junior Rates:

• 1st Year - $13.09 (left school before year 12) - $14.40 (finished year 12)
• 2nd Year - $15.71 (left school before year 12) - $17.02 (finished year 12)
• 3rd Year - $19.64
• 4th Year - $23.04

Adult Rates:

(21 years old+ at Commencement of Apprenticeship)

• 1st Year - $20.95
• 2nd Year - $22.61
• 3^rd Year - $23.23
• 4th Year - $24.08
