Plumbing Apprentice & Employment Consultant

At Skill Hire, we support more than 270 school leavers and adult apprentices in completing their qualifications across a diverse range of industries, including building and construction, manufacturing, mechanical, administration, and more. Working alongside 100+ host employers, from small businesses through to leading national organisations, we are passionate about connecting apprentices with opportunities that align with their skills, career goals, and aspirations.


We are currently seeking a motivated and people-focused Plumbing Apprentice & Employment Consultant to join our growing team.

This is a rewarding and dynamic role that combines apprentice mentoring, recruitment, account management, and business development. You will support apprentices throughout their training journey while building strong relationships with host employers and identifying new business opportunities across the plumbing sector.

A trade background is highly desirable, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor, support, and manage Plumbing Apprentices and Trainees from commencement through to completion
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with apprentices, host employers, and key stakeholders
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to generate new opportunities
  • Promote Australian Apprenticeships and Skill Hire services within your region
  • Source, screen, interview, and assess candidates to meet client workforce requirements
  • Identify market trends and emerging growth opportunities within the plumbing industry
  • Conduct regular workplace visits to support apprentices and ensure positive employment outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional recruitment and training services

 

About You

  • Trade background within Plumbing or Construction (highly desirable)
  • Experience in sales, business development, recruitment, account management, or a similar customer-focused role
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Understanding of apprenticeships, vocational training, or workforce development programs is highly regarded
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

 

Requirements

  • Current WA Driver's Licence
  • Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current National Police Clearance (within the last 12 months)
  • Full Australian working rights
