About the Role

As a Medical Imaging Assistant, you will be responsible for patient care prior to, during and after the procedure. The majority of your work will be clinical in nature including some administrative duties.

This position is Full Time – 75 hours per fortnight. In addition, you will be required to participate in public holiday, shift and weekend rosters.

You will be expected to help out across modalities including PET-CT and Nuclear Medicine, as well as running your own list of Bone Densitometry patients. Some of your many and varied duties will include:

  • Confirming patient appointments & any pre-appointment instructions via telephone
  • Retrieving outside imaging studies
  • Cannulating patients (intravenous cannulation training provided)
  • Preparing patients for procedures
  • Assisting with the positioning of patients during procedures
  • Assisting the technical staff member during clinical procedures, including cannulating patients
  • Stock control
  • Cleaning and housekeeping duties
  • Administrative duties as required

A tertiary qualification in a health/science background will be highly regarded.


Role requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a health/science discipline
  • A caring, compassionate nature
  • Excellent customer service skills with a Patients First. focus
  • A willingness to train in IV Cannulation & Bone Densitometry
  • The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills
  • Computer literacy
  • The ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment

Please note that the successful candidate is required to provide evidence of vaccination/immunity/screening to a list of vaccine-preventable diseases prior to commencement of employment.
