About the role
As the sole Nurse working in our Nuclear Medicine department you will be involved in a range of duties including:
- Assisting the radiologist with cardiac stress tests and brown fat protocols
- Assisting the Nuclear Medicine team with needling and deneedling infusaports
- Performing intravenous cannulation
- Cannulation blood draws for our clinical trial patients
- Monitoring inpatients whilst they remain in our department
- Providing a thorough handover to hospital ward staff
- Maintaining the department i.e. resus trolley, oxygen & suction checks, ordering stock, & pharmacy orders
- Assisting Nuclear Medicine Technologists with patient related tasks
Whilst a background in nuclear medicine &/or medical imaging nursing will be highly regarded, we will provide training in the provision of care in a nuclear medicine department to the successful candidate.
Due to our partnership with GenesisCare, this position is based within GenesisCare located on the SJOG Murdoch Hospital campus.
Role requirements
- Willing & able to work as the sole RN in the department supported by our wider medical imaging team
- Degree/Diploma of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with AHPRA
- Recent solid clinical nursing experience
- A consistent Patients First focus
- A caring, compassionate nature
- Excellent communication and time management skills
Please note that the successful candidate is required to provide evidence of vaccination/immunity/screening to a list of vaccine-preventable diseases prior to commencement of employment.
This is a Temporary position being offered for 12 months with an immediate start.
The hours are Part Time – 50 hours per fortnight working “school hours” i.e. 0930 to 1430hrs (5hr shift) on week days.
