About the role

As a Nurse working in our Nuclear Medicine department you will be involved in a range of duties including:

  • Assisting the radiologist with cardiac stress tests and brown fat protocols
  • Assisting the Nuclear Medicine team with needling and deneedling infusaports
  • Performing intravenous cannulation
  • Cannulation blood draws for our clinical trial patients
  • Monitoring inpatients whilst they remain in our department
  • Providing a thorough handover to hospital ward staff
  • Maintaining the department i.e. resus trolley, oxygen & suction checks, ordering stock, & pharmacy orders
  • Assisting Nuclear Medicine Technologists with patient related tasks

Whilst a background in nuclear medicine &/or medical imaging nursing will be highly regarded, we will provide training in the provision of care in a nuclear medicine department to the successful candidate.

Due to our partnership with GenesisCare, this position is based within GenesisCare located on the SJOG Murdoch Hospital campus.

Role requirements

  • Degree/Diploma of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Recent solid clinical nursing experience
  • A consistent Patients First focus
  • A caring, compassionate nature
  • The ability to work both independently and within our wider medical imaging team
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • A commitment to one’s own professional development

Please note that the successful candidate is required to provide evidence of vaccination/immunity/screening to a list of vaccine-preventable diseases prior to commencement of employment.


This is a Full Time position of 75 hours per fortnight, working day time shifts on week days. 

Flexibility with start and finish times is key.
