Our Bunbury branch provides General X-ray, OPG/Dental X-ray, Low-Dose CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, Doppler, Facet Joint Injection, FNA Biopsy and Interventional Procedures to a well established base of patients and referrers.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available to join SKG Radiology as a Medical Imaging Assistant based at our Bunbury branch on a casual basis. 

As this is a casual position, there are no set hours or shifts each week. Your flexibility and availability is key as shifts currently range from a 7:00 am start to a 10:00 pm finish to cater to late lists within the MRI department. This position is best suited to university students with week day and evening availability.

As a Medical Imaging Assistant you will be responsible for patient care prior to, during and after the scan &/or procedure. Some of your many and varied duties will include:

  • Assisting our technical staff during clinical procedures
  • Cannulating patients (intravenous cannulation)
  • Running a Bone Densitometry list
  • Assisting with the positioning of patients during procedures
  • Giving instructions to patients regarding preparation for their procedure
  • Acting as a chaperone during sensitive examinations
  • Assisting with patient transfers
  • Cleaning procedure rooms including changing of linen
  • Stock control
  • Administrative duties using our computer systems

Role requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • A caring and compassionate nature
  • Excellent customer service skills with a Patients First approach
  • A willingness to train in IV Cannulation and Bone Densitometry
  • The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills
  • Computer literacy
  • The ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment

Please note that the successful candidate is required to provide evidence of vaccination/immunity/screening to a list of vaccine-preventable diseases prior to commencement of employment.
