SIMPEC have been awarded the main procurement and construction contract for the residue filtration stage 2 project at Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery, which will involve delivering infrastructure and services to increase processing capacity.
We're seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our project team. This role will be a full-time opportunity commencing in September for a duration of approximately 8 months.
Initially, this role will be a hybrid between our head office located in Applecross and site (Pinjarra) and will eventually become site-based full-time for the remainder of the project.

The Role:
- Support the Commissioning Manager and project teams throughout the phases of construction completion and commissioning, in accordance with the commissioning management plans.
- Manage the reporting of commissioning execution ensuring that all technical and contractual information is properly collected, recorded and available for reference and review as required by law regulations and company policies / procedures.
- Facilitate and support the Ready for Commissioning (RFC) process to enable commissioning activities to commence across all areas.
- Execute and coach the effective use of the Commissioning Management Plan phases and tollgates. Including, but not limited to; Build Verification, Punch Listing, Notice of Energisation (NOE), Functional Testing, Process Testing, Request for Commissioning (RFC) and Commissioning Completion.
- Progressively contribute to the compilation of the Project MDR ensuring traceability is maintained through to close out of the project.
About You:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical) or trade qualification
- Minimum 5 years of commissioning experience
- Demonstrate experience in working with Completion Management Systems (Hexagon CMS)
- Good understanding of all stages of construction, from construction verification to commissioning.
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant electrical safety standards, such as AS/NZS 3000 (Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules), is mandatory.
