SIMPEC have been contracted to complete the installation, testing, commissioning and startup of a gas engine generator at the Solomon Power Station. We are seeking an experienced HSE Coach to commence ASAP for the remainder of the project (approximately 2-3 swings left) on a casual basis.

The Role:

  • A proactive, solutions driven approach to managing work health and safety.
  • Coaching SIMPEC workers and leadership to excel in their approach to all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Assist in the review of statistics and development of improvement strategies.
  • Assessment and control of operational risks and hazards
  • Conducting inductions and other HSE related training.
  • Review and implementation of HSE plans to meet SIMPEC and contract requirements.
  • Sharing information, suggestions, and observations with project leadership to create consistency in safety standards throughout the operational team and the business unit.
  • Investigating and determining the root causes of incidents, hazards and other unsafe conditions on the job site and/or office

About You:

  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
  • Experience within the resources sector
  • Strong understanding of HSE Legislations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent time management skills to achieve proficient and effectiveness in managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and strong communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Autonomously work within a collaborative team, be proactive and able to take initiative.
