SIMPEC have been awarded the main procurement and construction contract for the residue filtration stage 2 project at Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery, which will involve delivering infrastructure and services to increase processing capacity.

We are currently looking for an experienced Contracts Engineer to join our project team at Alcoa Pinjarra. This is a full-time, site-based role (Monday - Friday) with a duration of approximately 12+ months.

The Role:

  • Analyse contract documentation to identify, extract, and incorporate critical terms and conditions relevant to work packages.
  • Manage contracts from inception through to completion, including defining scope, establishing timelines, and ensuring key milestones and programme requirements are achieved.
  • Undertake progress assessments at various project stages to quantify performance, identify efficiencies or deficiencies, and highlight gaps between progress, drawings, scope, and schedule.
  • Prepare and administer detailed contracts clearly defining project scope, timelines, costs, and deliverables.
  • Manage and substantiate claims, variations, and disputes, ensuring contractual compliance and supporting timely contract close-out.


About You:

  • Recognised qualifications in quantity surveying, construction engineering, management, or related field.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings and assess associated contractual implications.
  • Competent in performing remeasurement evaluations and quantity reconciliations.
  • 4+ years' experience on major construction projects
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated capability in negotiation and formal correspondence/contracts drafting.
