We're looking for an experienced HSE Coordinator to commence on site at the Western Harbour Tunnel where we have been contracted to complete installation works on the Tunnel vent mechanical system.

This will be a casual role which will see you on site for the duration of the project for a minimum of 6 months.

The Role:

  • Auditing compliance against SIMPEC’s integrated management
  • Coaching SIMPEC workers and leadership to excel in their approach to all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management
  • Development and review of Safe Environmental Work Method Statements
  • Assessment and control of operational risks and hazards
  • Conducting inductions and other HSE related training.
  • Review and implementation of HSE plans to meet SIMPEC and contract requirements.
  • Investigating and determining the root causes of incidents, hazards and other unsafe conditions on the job site and/or office

About You:

  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
  • Experience within the construction or rail industry
  • Strong understanding of HSE Legislation and compliance requirements
  • Excellent time management skills to achieve proficient and effectiveness in managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and strong communication skills – written and verbal.
  • High level of proficiency and expertise utilising Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular)

Not required but highly regarded:

  • Incident investigation methodology (e.g. ICAM or Taproot)
  • Training and Assessing (TAE40116)
  • Injury management experience and/or qualifications
  • Auditing qualifications (e.g., Lead Auditor)
