About the Role
- FIFO 2:1 Roster
- Approximate Duration: 6 months plus ongoing work beyond this project
- Pivotal and diverse role working with a supportive team
Responsibilities
- Implementing, maintaining, coordinating, and expediting the procurement and construction elements for the designated work area.
- Identifying and resolving technical engineering issues and associated problems which may arise throughout the duration of the project.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the project team members.
- Creating work packs, test packs; estimation & site variations.
- Developing, preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the installation requirements for all equipment that is required for each stage of construction.
- Performing regular tests on materials and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Monitor and manage short and long-term construction planning and programming.
- Presenting project progress updates to senior management and clients.
- Developing and monitoring KPIs and analysing productivity factors against program and budget.
- Daily interaction with clients to interpret their engineering requirements and represent them and executing them in the field.
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
- Manage all technical queries and requests for information sent to the client and received from sub-contractors.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role in Mining / Minerals Processing Construction – involving structural steel erection, mechanical and piping installation.
- Demonstrated understanding of governing standards in Mining Construction particularly Australian Standards.
- High level of proficiency and expertise utilising Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in modelling and drawing software such as Naviswork Simulate, MS Project and/or Bluebeam.
- Basic knowledge on AutoCAD and P6, desirable.
- Good comprehension on planning, scheduling, construction contract management and administration
- Good understand of construction estimating and cost controlling i.e. First Principle estimating, Productivity Factor and Cost Code allocation.
- Experienced in managing, raising, and responding to RFI’s and TQ’s.
- Good understanding of Mining Processing and equipment.
- Experienced in managing and developing QMP’s, ITP’s and FIC’s/ITR’s
- Good understanding of all stages of construction, from construction verification to commissioning.
