The role of QA/QC Inspector provides leadership in the development, implementation and assurance of QA/QC across the project ensuring that all operations concerning or relating to quality are carried out in strict compliance with written, agreed practices or specifications.
Key Responsibilities
· Development and implementation of the project’s quality management system.
· Identify and correct QMS gaps and instances of duplication of work to ensure optimal performance.
· Be the first point of contact for the client regarding all testing on site.
· Ensure client satisfaction throughout the project in relation to QA/QC.
· Progressively compile the Project MDR and ensure traceability is maintained throughout the project.
· Solve QA/QC queries in accordance with relevant specifications, Standards, management plans, procedures etc.
· Ensure the Project Manager and Corporate QA/QC Manager are informed of quality issues.
· Raise, action and close out Non-Conformance Reports.
· Conduct and participate in meetings as required.
· Develop procedures, management plans, ITP’s, methodology statements in accordance with project specifications and relevant standards.
· Ensure that a WPS is available for all welds on the project and arrange the development of additional WPS’s if required.
· Visual Inspection of welds (from fit-up through to completion) in accordance with defined acceptance criteria.
· Inspection of structural, mechanical and piping installations including progressive material control, flange management, coatings inspections, alignment and dimensional verifications in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.
· Raise NDE requests, coordinate NDE subcontractor personnel, validate and endorse NDE reports.
· Complete weld maps, inspection and test reports, field inspection checklists and other documentation as required by the project’s quality management system.
· Prepare and maintain various registers of reports and records.
· Provide weekly and monthly reports on QA/QC as required.
To be successful in this role, you will require the following experience, qualifications, and attributes:
· Have a number one focus on safety
· A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
· Hold CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector Certificate or equivalent (IIW IWI-S, AWS CWI, SAIW Level 2, etc.)
· Welding Supervisor and/or Coating Inspection qualifications highly regarded.
· Knowledge of QA/QC in Electrical and Instrumentation works highly regarded.
· Strong understanding of AS/NZS 1554.1-7, AS 4037, AS 4041, AS 4458, AS 3992, AS/NZS 4100, AS/NZS 5131, AS 2033, ASME PCC-01, AS/NZS ISO 9001
· Familiarity with ASME BPVC, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, AS 1210 highly regarded.
· Familiarity with Australian and International quality standards.
· Experienced in compilation of Project Manufacturer’s Data Reports (MDR)
· Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills
