SIMPEC have been awarded the main procurement and construction contract for the residue filtration stage 2 project at Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery, which will involve delivering infrastructure and services to increase processing capacity.
We're seeking a Permit Coordinator to join our commissioning team at Alcoa Pinjarra. This role will be commencing asap and will be site-based Monday - Friday with a duration of approximately 8+ months.

The Role:
- Manage and oversee the Permit to Work system on the project.
- Continuous improvement of systems to ensure safety and compliance
- Permit holder register maintenance and compliance
- Interface with principal PTW personnel and operations team
- Maintain permit registers to track and record permit details such as work area, work scope, and equipment numbers, if isolating equipment.
- Track permit closure, relinquishing, and reissue.
- Review new permit requests for area conflicts and SIMOPS issues.
- Manage lock boxes associated with isolation permits.
- Verify that permits are completed accurately and clearly identify the scope of work and work location.
- Conduct permit to work related training.
- Sharing information, suggestions, and observations with project leadership to create consistency in safety standards throughout the operational team and the business unit.
About You:
- Significant industry experience in managing permit to work systems under both construction and commissioning project phases
- Experience on both brownfield and greenfield projects
- Strong understanding of HSE Legislation and compliance requirements
- Well developed problem-solving skills, attention to detail and able to work well under pressure
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (highly desirable)
- Incident investigation methodology (e.g., ICAM or Taproot) is highly regarded
