SIMPEC have been awarded the main procurement and construction contract for the residue filtration stage 2 project at Alcoa's Pinjarra Alumina Refinery, which will involve delivering infrastructure and services to increase processing capacity.

We are seeking an experienced Completions & Commissioning Manager/Engineer to lead the transition of a filtration facility from construction completion through Stage 2–3 commissioning and formal handover to the Client for Stage 4 wet commissioning. This role will commence ASAP and be based on site Monday - Friday for the duration of the project.

The Role:

  • Establish and implement the project completions management system
  • Develop the systemisation structure for the facility
  • Lead the planning and execution of mechanical completion verification, pre-commissioning activities, equipment functional testing, dry commissioning activities and system turnover to the client.
  • Coordinate activities including electrical energisation, instrument calibrations, control system validation and interlock testing, operational readiness verification
  • Prepare systems for structured handover
  • Act as the key interface between construction teams. engineering and quality teams, project controls and client commissioning and operations personnel

About You:

  • Engineering or trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or related discipline
  • Significant experience delivering commissioning on mineral processing or industrial facilities
  • Demonstrated experience implementing structured completions and commissioning systems
  • Strong knowledge of multi-discipline commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical and control systems
  • Proven capability coordinating commissioning interfaces between construction and operations
