We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Rotary Commissioning Engineer to oversee the commissioning of all rotating mechanical equipment, with a strong emphasis on Steam Turbine Generator systems and major rotary equipment such as large pumps, motors, fans and conveyor drives.
This will be a full-time position working on site based in East Rockingham for a period of approximately 8-10 months.

The Role
- Develop and review commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for rotary equipment.
- Ensure all pre-commissioning documentation is in place.
- Coordinate with design, construction, and QA/QC teams to ensure mechanical completion of rotary equipment.
- Perform mechanical walkdowns and punch listing for STG and rotary equipment
- Validate installation alignment (cold/hot), piping strain checks, grouting, and lubrication readiness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that arise during commissioning and early operations.
- Act as primary interface with OEM vendors for STG and major drives during commissioning and performance runs.
- Ensure coordination with electrical, I&C, and process commissioning engineers to validate BOP support systems (cooling water, steam seals, etc.).
- Support performance testing and reliability run phases to confirm long-term asset integrity.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering Electrical or trade qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years of commissioning experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word and outlook
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering governing standards in Mining Construction particularly Australian Standards.
- Excellent time management skills and a strong ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively work autonomously within a collaborative team, be proactive and able to take initiative.
- Well-developed interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Good understanding of all stages of construction, from construction verification to commissioning.
