The Opportunity
SIMPEC have a unique opportunity for a highly experienced Supervisor to join our team at Pilbara Mineral’s Pilgangoora Project. Located 120km from Port Hedland in WA’s resource-rich Pilbara region, the Pilgangoora ore body is one of the largest hard rock lithium deposits in the world and is considered strategically important within the global lithium supply chain.
The SIMPEC work scopes for Pilgangoora include multiple and varied sustaining capital works that include structural, mechanical, piping, and civil. Potential works could include complexing portable buildings, replacing potable water systems, installing structural platforms and shedders to upgrading pumps and piping.
The Responsibilities
- Participate and promote site safety initiatives and procedures embracing the SIMSafe culture framework.
- Review work packaging and detailed planning.
- Monitor daily works, including quality inspections, daily progress reporting and safety leadership activities.
- Coordinate work crew plant, equipment, and materials to achieve operational outcomes and targets, safely.
- Promote, conduct, and amend risk assessments to identify, highlight and implement mitigation strategies, as required.
- Support, coach and effectively communicate with team members to ensure consistent dealings with work crews in all areas including performance and other matters as they arise, to ensure timely, fair, and acceptable issue resolution and team harmony.
- Build professional and positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About you
- Trade qualification in related discipline.
- A minimum 4 year’s industry experience in a supervisory role.
- A proven track record in effective health and safety management.
- Experience in effective planning, scheduling, management of personnel, resources, and equipment to meet Project requirements.
- Well-developed interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Developed time management skills to effectively manage competing priorities.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word
