About the position

The role of the Registered Nurse/District nurse is to:

• Work within their Scope of Practice as defined by their AHPRA Registration, Qualifications and Clinical Competencies to be completed and maintained.

• Provide high quality, comprehensive, evidence-based, client-focused care;

• Act as a resource and role model to other staff;

• Act as a support to Students on clinical placement;

• Communicate and collaborate with other health professionals;

• Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and skills in their specific field;

• Demonstrate knowledge and commitment towards quality improvement activities and actively participate in departmental accreditation processes; and

• Demonstrate knowledge and promote the use of advanced care planning for residents/clients/patients

• To work autonomously in the community

Our services include a 30-bed public hospital that provides public and private Acute medical and surgical, renal dialysis and day procedures. Seymour Health’s breadth of services extends to post-acute care, palliative care, sub-acute ambulatory service, oral health services, district nursing and community services. Barrabill House is a 40-bed residential aged care service that provides highly rated residential aged care.
