About the Role
You will be responsible for the provision of dental services to patients, including but not limited to emergency treatments, general examinations and preventative treatments, restorations, minor oral surgical procedures, x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and design/management of prosthodontics. In this role you will liaise with the senior dental officer (depending on clinic size), medical officers, nursing officers, and specialist dental providers where needed to provide comprehensive dental care. You will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the good oral health of personnel in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures, ensuring patients are dentally fit for deployment.
About Amberley Health Centre
Amberley Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Amberley - the largest Air Force Base in Australia – approximately 50 minutes from the city of Brisbane. The facility provides primary medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services to over 6500 RAAF members and staff. The standard operating hours of the centre range from 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday depending on role requirements, and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday.
About You
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist, General with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Minimum 2 years full-time post graduate clinical chair-side experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
- Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
- You must also be an Australian Citizen in order to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
