About the Opportunity

This position will manage and coordinate communication, site access requirements, and collaboration between different stakeholders. The role will act as a bridge between various teams, departments, and external parties to ensure smooth information flow and effective project execution to fulfill works within any of the Immigration Detention Centres throughout the network.

As a Project Interface Officer, one of your key responsibilities will be to support the Department's Project Managers and Serco Managers in all operational aspects of the contract. Your role will be involved in identifying and addressing any potential delays that could impact the successful delivery of projects. By proactively mitigating these avoidable delays in conjunction with The department's Project Managers, you will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the projects.

Additionally, you will contribute to developing and implementing strategies and processes aimed at minimising delays and improving project delivery in conjunction with The Departments Project Managers. This could involve identifying areas for improvement, suggesting process enhancements, and implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Develop relationships between The Department and the Serco Operations teams.
  • Support The Departments' Project Managers and Serco Managers in relation to all operational aspects of the Contract to ensure avoidable delays to the projects being delivered are mitigated.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication from The Departments Project Managers.
  • Facilitate, attend meetings, and distribute information received from the department.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are understood and addressed.
  • Assist in developing strategies to mitigate risks and proactively address any challenges that may arise.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) from the Department's Project Managers (and their PMCA providers) in a timely and concise fashion.

About you - your ideal skills & experience 

  • Tertiary qualification or trade background with a strong FM/Project Management experience
    • Degree in a building or construction discipline
    • Diploma of Project Management
    • Diploma of Management
  • Strong experience in program/project management with a variety of multi-disciplinary programs/projects using project management methodologies & processes.
  • Experience within a building trade covering all aspects from maintenance through to construction and project management.
  • Remote multi-site experience.
  • Contract management & compliance experience.
  • Sound knowledge of FM operations, administration awareness, excellent communication skills, and self-motivation.
  • Must be willing to travel as required by the project demand.
