About the Opportunity

This a permanent opportunity reporting to the Supervisor – Prisoner Trust Services. You will assist with the daily operations of the Prisoner Trust Services function of the prison and provide administrative support for all Prisoner Trust related functions. You will primarily be responsible for prisoner communications (mail & telephones) & switchboard duties.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Reception & telephone switchboard relief
  • Collection, sorting, inspection and recording all incoming prisoner mail
  • Processing prisoner telephone forms
  • Sorting, franking & dropping off outgoing mail
  • Data entry & general adminstrative duties
  • Provide support to Prisoner Trust Services team as required

About you - your ideal skills & experience 

  • This role will suit someone with a proactive, investigative mindset, who likes solving problems
  • You are a team player with high attention to detail & well-organised with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • 2 years plus in office administration duties in particular processing/data entry/switchboard
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint)
  • Absolute discretion with prisoner & confidential information
