As a well-trained Reintegration Officer (otherwise known as Corrections Officer), you’ll make a positive impact by supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners within a secure facility, ensuring their safety, and supporting their reintegration journey. Working on a 24/7 roster, you’ll contribute to the security of the facility while fostering a safe and respectful environment.

Our Reintegration Officers makes a positive impact by:

  • Promoting and maintaining a safe and secure environment
  • Receiving prisoners into the facility, conducting searches, and supporting the daily activities and routines of the men, as well as escort duties within and outside the facility
  • Supervising and supporting prisoners in rehabilitation and reintegration programmes
  • Submitting accurate incident reports and maintaining administrative records
  • Building positive relationships with prisoners, staff, and external agencies
  • Supervising prisoner activities and work programs
  • Actively participating in team meetings to enhance team cohesion

Serco is a place for you

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Ability to work across a 24/7 schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Experience or willingness to undertake NZQA Offender Management Level 3 training
  • Excellent command of the English language as accurate incident report writing on a formal management platform is an integral part of this role
  • Life experience and life skills to support the men in our care on their reintegration journey
  • As a person you will be a reliable, dependable, trustworthy team player with well-developed problem solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions
  • Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
