This is an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for a Case Planning Officer at Clarence Correctional Centre locared in Grafton NSW.

About the opportunity
As a Case Planning Officer, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end case management of inmates to reduce their likelihood and seriousness of re-offending on release. You will play an integral role in promoting rehabilitation
and reintegration, ensuring the safety and security in the centre and the community, and provide a safe and respectful environment to everyone in the centre.
You will play an integral role in assessing the risks, needs and responsivity of allocated inmates using specialist assessment tools as well as developing a case plan for inmates which addresses their identified needs. You will also
be liaising the inmates custodial case officer to ensure the plan has been implemented.

As a Case Planning Officer, you will develop reintegration plans for allocated inmates in accordance with practice standard and develop effective and constructive relationships with Probation Officers to ensure coordinated
transitions from prison to the community.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Criminology, Social Work, Social Sciences or relevant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Case Management) (or to be completed within the first 12 months of employment).
  • Experience in case management and/or rehabilitation and reintegration practice.
  • Exposure to the Criminal Justice System or similar human services.
  • Cultural awareness including understanding the impact and management of different ethnic backgrounds, customs, and contemporary issues.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Serco’s values and the rehabilitation process.
  • Demonstrate a competent level of computer literacy and report writing.
  • Proficient interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Maintains high level of integrity and ethical behaviour.
