About the Opportunity

Come join our dynamic team in a permanent full-time position. Reporting to the HSE Director J&I, you will provide the overall coordination of Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing procedures in the workplace at Auckland South Correctional Facility (ASCF).

What you’ll be doing 

  • You will ensure consultation and communication amongst employees and management
  • You will implement programs to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel and to assist injured employees in all aspects of workers` compensation and rehabilitation for compensable and non-compensable injuries
  • You will facilitate the coordination of rehabilitation and return to work activities to support employees with work related and non-work-related conditions and ensure all injuries and incidents are investigated at the appropriate level

About you - your ideal skills & experience 

  • You are passionate about providing exceptional Health Safety Environment & Wellbeing (HSEW) and Return to Work (RTW) support and services. You display an empathetic approach and high emotional intelligence and have subject matter expertise across health safety and environmental matters, and your significant experience in Safety Services Management allows you to provide robust advice, guidance, counselling and education.  You have good time management skills and can multi-task and are flexible to respond to challenges. You’re a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Diploma or greater in the OHS field
  • Sustained experience in an WHSE position
  • Worked within a multi-discipline/multi-function environment including construction
  • Hold a SA Return to Work Qualification
  • Maintain ‘’Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing” HLTPAT005 or similar
  • RIIWHS204D Work Safely at Heights
  • MSAPMPER300C Issue Work Permit
    MSMPER200 Work in Accordance with an Issued Permit
    MSMPER205 Enter Confined Space 
    MSMWHS217 Gas Test Atmosphere
    RIIRIS201D Conduct Local Risk Assessment 
    RIIWHS202D Enter & Work in a Confined Space
