About the Opportunity

The health services at Clarence have 3 modern health centers that deliver appropriate standards of health care to approximately 1700 inmates from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

You will provide primary care based on a patient-centred model allowing patients to actively participate in their health management. The team works closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated patient-centered health services that:

• Promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates
• Ensure the safety and security of inmates
• Fosters a high standard of practice to facilitate safe healthcare delivery

What you’ll be doing 

• Provide comprehensive and accurate health assessments for patients
• Create patient care plans in collaboration with various stakeholders
• Deliver holistic and integrated patient-centered health services that treat and prevent communicable diseases, and proactively treat chronic disease 
• Actively support the Clinical Team Leader and Nurse Unit Manager to achieve the required health outcomes

About you - your ideal skills & experience 

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Minimum of 2-year full-time post-graduate experience (or part-time equivalent)
• Experience in primary health, rural health, or emergency nursing (desirable)

This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a Federal police check as an essential selection component for this role.
