Kitchen Hand

We’re seeking reliable, hardworking casual Kitchen Hands to support our fast-paced kitchen team. You will play a key role in delivering quality meals across daily dining, boarding and special events, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food preparation.

Start Date: Term 2, commencing 20 April

Your responsibilities:

• Keep kitchen areas clean, organised and hygienic
• Handle dishwashing, waste disposal and stock rotation
• Keep the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently
• Assist with stocking supplies and preparing the kitchen for daily service or school functions

Your attributes:

• Highly organised, able to work efficiently, adapt and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
• Committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, service and hygiene
• Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn
• Ability to work flexible hours including morning, evenings and weekends as required

Your experience:

• Previous work in a kitchen, café, restaurant or catering environment is an advantage
• Familiarity with food hygiene, safety and cleaning standards
• Efficiently managed dishwashing, waste disposal, and stock rotation to maintain kitchen standards
• Working in fast-paced or team-oriented environments
• Any exposure to catering kitchens is a bonus but not essential
• Current Working With Children Check is essentially or willing to obtain one

Please note: This position operates during the school term only. There is no requirement to work during school holiday periods, which are unpaid, offering an excellent work–life balance aligned with the academic calendar. However you may have the opportunity to work at other venues during term breaks
