Commercial Manager

We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional to join Schnitz and help drive the future growth of our business.

Partnering closely with senior leaders, you'll provide commercial insights, build financial models, lead budgeting and forecasting, and support key investment decisions across our growing restaurant network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts and monthly financial reporting, providing clear insights and variance analysis to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop financial models and analysis to support key business decisions, including capital investment, new store opportunities and growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate the financial performance, risks and ROI of major projects and strategic investments.
  • Partner with Operations, Property, Franchising, Marketing and other departments to identify opportunities to improve profitability and business performance.
  • Provide financial oversight across key projects, representing Finance in project meetings and supporting effective decision-making.
  • Analyse franchise and company store performance to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare Board reporting, executive presentations and financial dashboards to communicate business performance and insights.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the Finance team, building capability and driving continuous improvement across financial processes.

Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  •  3–5+ years experience in a senior corporate finance, FP&A, or commercial analysis role (retail, franchise, or multi-site hospitality experience highly valued).
  • CA or CPA qualification required; MBA (or currently studying towards) highly regarded.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and forecasting capabilities.
  • Proven experience leading budgeting and forecasting cycles, with exposure to Board-level reporting.
  • A strong commercial business partner who can challenge assumptions, influence decisions, and collaborate across teams.
  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to leverage AI and digital tools to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance decision-making.

The Good Stuff!

There’s more to Schnitz than seriously good food. Join a supportive and collaborative team where you’ll enjoy hybrid working, opportunities to work across the business, and a workplace that celebrates success. Enjoy benefits including birthday leave, monthly Support Office lunches, free coffee and soft drinks, staff discounts and a convenient location close to retail, eateries, and public transport.
