THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Handyperson to join the QLD Facilities Team to support the delivery of day-to-day and reactive maintenance and longer-term facility management across the allocated assets. The Maintenance Handyperson role consists of ‘hands on’ repairs, maintenance, and supporting service partners in conjunction with key stakeholders including Operations and Wellness & Hygiene.

The successful Maintenance Handyperson will work closely with their team members to ensure that our facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. 

To be successful you will have: 

  • At least 2 years’ experience in commercial building maintenance as a handyman or similar 
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask 
  • Enjoy and thrive in a fast paced environment  
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to relate to customers of all backgrounds and demographics
  • Effective communication skills that promote positive interactions with stakeholders and residents 
  • The ability to adapt to changing schedules and prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team and can manage their time effectively to meet project deadlines. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES 

We are seeking enthusiastic self-starters with the following skills and experience:  

  • High attention to detail 
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask 
  • Can work in team or individual setting  
  • Ability to work with and relate to young adults while also maintaining professional and cultural sensitivity and boundaries 
  • 1-2 years' experience in commercial building maintenance or similar hands on role.
