THE ROLE

Supporting our Scape Australia platform, this role sits in our ‘in-house’ acquisition, developments, design and construction function. What sets us apart is the fact that we manage our own pipeline to deliver our extraordinary assets and partner with Australia’s leading D&C groups. It’s busy and it’s rewarding. With continued growth on the horizon, we are seeking an Assistant Development Manager to join our expanding team. In this front-end focused role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of delivery for our mixed-use projects. Key areas of focus will be assisting on origination and project feasibilities, preparing and managing development applications in coordination with local authorities and working our various business units to ensure projects are scoped, designed and delivered as envisioned.

 

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Reporting, budgeting, risk assessment and monthly review of our pipeline projects.
  • Scoping, engaging, and managing internal and external team on Development Applications (DAs).
  • Assessing new acquisition opportunities with the preparation of development feasibilities.
  • Managing project timeframes, budget, and quality.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including councils and other government officials/departments.
  • Proactively identifying and managing project risks and issues effectively
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Tertiary qualifications in building, engineering, project management, architecture, property development, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in project or development management, with strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Proven ability to work with councils and government agencies, with solid understanding of planning frameworks and approval pathways.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, feasibility preparation, and assessing acquisition opportunities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction procurement, contracts, building processes, regulations, and quality standards for mixed-use developments.
