Disability Support Worker - Rosebud area

About Us

SAI Home and Community Care is a Melbourne-based boutique home and community care provider that works across the South Eastern and Mornington Peninsula regions.

We’ve supported our local community for over 45 years, and we’re all about building strong connections with both our clients and our staff. We want you to feel proud of the work you do and supported to be yourself at work.

About the Role

We’re looking for Disability Support Workers and Mental Health Support Workers with experience supporting people living with psychosocial disabilities, (bonus if you have experience supporting individuals with Schizophrenia and BPD), who can provide consistent and person-centred support.

You’ll support clients who feel most comfortable with clear boundaries, structured routines, and clear communication. You’ll need to be assertive and calm under pressure, while also being encouraging and understanding. A strong listener who is able to prompt and promote independence and engagement, you’ll be a key part of helping them live an independent and fulfilling life.

This role is best suited to someone with:

  • A compassionate yet firm approach to support
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to gently motivate and prompt activity
  • A commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred support

No two days are the same! Your support might look like:

  • Getting out into the community to do things clients enjoy such as hiking or shopping
  • Supporting with personal care tasks like showering and dressing
  • Helping prepare simple, nutritious meals
  • Providing transport and mobility assistance
  • Helping out with a few light cleaning jobs around the home when needed

What You’ll Need

  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support (Disability or Aged Care)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and WWCC
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Valid drivers licence and your own reliable, insured car
  • Willingness to complete all client-specific training before you begin (we’ll guide you through it)

Why Join Us

  • A warm and supportive team that’s got your back
  • Paid training and onboarding
  • Accessible support from our after hours and care coordination team
  • Staff recognition programs and a $500 referral bonus
  • Work you can be proud of, in a role that really matters

If you’re someone who’s supportive, caring and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
