Join Ruah’s Street to Home Mobile Outreach Team and support people experiencing homelessness to secure housing and rebuild their lives.
Based at The Hub in Northbridge, you’ll work on the ground with clients facing complex challenges – including mental health, trauma, and reintegration after prison – helping them achieve long-term, sustainable outcomes.

About the Role
This is real outreach work — supporting people where they are, often on the street, and helping them move toward safe housing and long-term stability.
- Engage with clients who may be street-present or highly disengaged
- Support people experiencing mental health challenges, trauma, and reintegration after prison
- Help clients access and sustain safe, stable housing
- Deliver case management, advocacy, and referrals
- Build strong partnerships with hospitals and community services
- Maintain clear, accurate client records and documentation
Clients may self-refer or come through external services, requiring flexibility, persistence, and strong relationship-building skills.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday) offered on a maximum term contract of 3 months.
What we’re looking for
The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Experience supporting people with homelessness, mental health, AOD or complex needs
- Strong ability to engage and build trust with vulnerable or hard-to-reach clients
- Skills in case management, report writing, and coordination of supports
- Ability to work independently in outreach environments while contributing to a team
- Solid administrative and computer skills
- Commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed practice and Ruah’s values
The following criteria are considered desirable:
- Relevant qualification in community services or related field, or equivalent experience
- Understanding of culturally safe and inclusive practice, including Aboriginal culture
What do we offer?
- A salary aligned with Level 4 of the Ruah Enterprise Agreement (and the SCHADS Award), starting at over $88,000 + super.
- 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% annual leave loading (for award-based staff)
