About the Role

Ruah is proud to be developing the Karlup Service, a holistic healing and recovery service for women and children impacted by family and domestic violence. The Karlup Service provides a range of offerings from the Angela Wright Bennett Centre (AWBC), a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility in Perth’s CBD.

Women who have experienced the trauma of family and domestic and are trying to rebuild their lives. To support women and children through the recovery process, the Karlup Service will offer a Healing and Recovery Program, providing women and children impacted by family and domestic violence the opportunity to participate in a range of educational workshops, support groups and health and wellbeing activities, with the aim of contributing positively to the clients’ capacity to rebuild their lives and improve their wellbeing.

Reporting to and supported by the Team Lead, the Healing and Recovery Coordinator will play an important role in the identification, implementation and delivery of suitable programs and activities that meet the needs and interests of clients.

This is a full-time permanent position.

What we’re looking for

The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:

Desirable education or qualification(s)

  • Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Community Services; and/or minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Substantial experience working in a community services coordination role and proven ability to lead and manage a key program of work.
  • Previous experience in working effectively with children and young people who have experienced family and domestic violence and a sound understanding of the dynamics of family and domestic violence and the social and cultural context in which it occurs.
  • Capability to work effectively with a trauma and culturally informed model of service delivery.
  • Strong organisation, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively utilise computer programs and systems including Microsoft Office Suite and client management software.
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of reliability and contribute to the functioning of the team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
