About Ruah

Ruah is a leading values-driven employer in Western Australia’s community services sector. Our staff go boldly, not just supporting people in need, but working to end homelessness, end domestic violence and create opportunities for people struggling with poverty and mental health challenges.

Our professional team of operational and corporate services staff is backed by one of WA’s biggest Peer support workforces. Our staff reflect our commitment to diversity and inclusion, where difference is valued, celebrated and embraced.

By choosing to work with us, you are helping transform the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our community.

About the Role

As a Support Coordinator with Ruah's Stronger Ground North team, you'll support people experiencing severe and persistent mental health challenges to achieve their recovery goals and strengthen their independence.

Stronger Ground is Ruah's mental health psychosocial support program, delivering trauma-informed, person-centred and strengths-based outreach support in the community. Working alongside clients, you'll develop individual recovery plans, support goal achievement, advocate for client needs, coordinate services, and help people build the skills, confidence and connections needed to live meaningful lives.

This rewarding frontline role works with individuals experiencing complex challenges and involves strong stakeholder engagement, recovery-oriented case coordination, and collaborative work with Peer Recovery Workers and multidisciplinary teams. Using Ruah's recovery-focused Model of Care, you'll empower clients to make positive and sustainable changes while promoting choice, dignity and self-determination.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 38 hours per week across 5 days, within the Stronger Ground North team.

  • Strong goal-planning skills that contribute to the achievement of client goals within a recovery-oriented framework
  • Highly developed report writing, documentation and reflective practice skills using analytical reasoning
  • The ability to support, mentor and work alongside other team members
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems
  • The ability to engage and maintain professional relationships with clients and their broader support networks who may be experiencing multiple and complex challenges
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues such as mental health, homelessness, alcohol and other drug use, and family and domestic violence
  • A commitment to working within and contributing to Ruah's vision, mission and values

  • Relevant qualifications in community services, social work, psychology, counselling, mental health or a related discipline; or equivalent experience through employment or lived experience
