About the Role
We are looking for Payroll officer whose main focus is to process fortnightly end to end payroll and assist with finance and other general office administration duties.
This is a maximum term 12 month contract, with the possibility of extension, covering a period of parental leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Process fortnightly end-to-end payroll for all Ruah entities, including salary packaging, superannuation, taxation, timesheets, back pays, overpayments, and PAYG reporting to the ATO
- Prepare redundancy calculations and other payroll estimates as required
- Complete payroll month-end and year-end processing and reporting
- Maintain and administer the payroll system and interfaces with other Ruah systems
- Liaise with salary packaging providers on all payroll-related matters
- Administer superannuation, taxation, and PAYG obligations
- Generate regular and ad-hoc payroll reports
- Support payroll policies, procedures, EBAs, awards, and legislative updates
- Coordinate with the People and Culture team on payroll changes, salary reviews, and award increases
- Process and maintain NOE and VOE requirements
- Provide payroll and finance support and guidance to staff
- Manage Payroll Inboxes
Finance Support Duties
- Accurately process supplier and subcontractor invoices
- Manage petty cash, credit cards, staff reimbursements, and income receipting
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure timely creditor payments
- Respond to finance enquiries and monitor finance inbox
- Assist with audit preparation and review finance procedures and work instructions
- Undertake general office duties as required
What we’re looking for
The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or significant progress towards a qualification with practical experience (3+ years) in bookkeeping using a computer-based accounting and payroll systems.
- Experience with CHRIS 21 / ichris or similar payroll systems used in medium to large organisations is desirable
- Good knowledge and/or experience with award and Enterprise Bargaining Agreement interpretation.
- Sound knowledge of payroll legislation.
- Strong numerical analytical skills to a high level of accuracy.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
