About the Role

The Rent Relief program is a service that is offered as part of Ruah's Housing and Homelessness department. This program provides financial relief for those living in private rentals and have accumulated rental arrears. This role assists clients with assessing eligibility and determining the amount of financial assistance, as well as offering other areas of housing support. This role is based out of our Canning Vale office.

This is a full-time position with a maximum term date of 30 June 2026.

What we’re looking for

The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Skills in personal goal planning skills that contribute to the achievement of client goals in line with the Model of Care.  
  • Skills in reflective practice and highly developed report writing using analytical reasoning.  
  • Ability to support, mentor and work alongside supporting staff members. 
  • Advanced computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and client reporting system.  
  • Ability to engage and maintain professional relationships with clients, and their wider formal and informal supports, with multiple needs and challenges.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex issues facing people who experience chaotic life circumstances such as homelessness, AOD use, family/domestic violence and mental health issues.  
  • Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of diversity and social inclusion- including gender, sexuality, disability, cultural, age, and linguistic diversity and Aboriginal culture.
