About the Role

This position works directly with women and children accessing a family and domestic violence refuge. In accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), this is a designated female-only position.

This role is based within a specialist family and domestic violence refuge that provides crisis accommodation and support to women and children escaping family and domestic violence.

As a Support Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting clients to achieve meaningful recovery outcomes. Working closely with residents, their support networks and service providers, you will develop recovery plans, coordinate support interventions, advocate for client needs and provide high-quality case management for individuals experiencing complex life circumstances. The role is integral to helping women and children move towards safety, wellbeing and long-term independence.

This is a full-time 12-month maximum term contract opportunity working 38 hours per week across 5 days. You'll work a rotating roster of day shifts, including 8:00am to 4:00pm, 9:00am to 5:00pm and 10:00am to 6:00pm, ensuring women and children receive consistent, high-quality support throughout their stay.

How You'll Make an Impact

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate client support plans and recovery-focused interventions. cate for clients to access housing, health, wellbeing and community services.
• Build strong relationships with clients, their support networks and external service providers.
• Undertake case management activities, including assessments, referrals and appointments.
• Support highly disengaged clients to reconnect with services and achieve positive outcomes.
• Prepare high-quality case notes, reports and service documentation.
• Facilitate group programs and contribute to recovery-oriented practice.
• Work collaboratively with Peer Workers and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Provide guidance and capacity building support to team members where required.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to enhance client outcomes.

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

• Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Mental Health or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience.
• Experience in case management, care coordination or recovery-oriented support.
• Strong goal planning and client engagement skills that support positive outcomes.
• Highly developed report writing, analytical reasoning and reflective practice skills.
• Ability to mentor, guide and support other team members.
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and client management systems.
• Ability to develop professional relationships with clients experiencing complex needs.
• Understanding of the challenges associated with family and domestic violence, homelessness, alcohol and other drug use, and mental health concerns.
• Commitment to working within and contributing to Ruah's vision, mission and values.

Highly Regarded

• Experience working within family and domestic violence services.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and strengths-based practice.
• Understanding of diversity, social inclusion and culturally safe practice, particularly relating to Aboriginal communities.

• Salary aligned with Level 4 of the Ruah Enterprise Agreement, starting from $92,575 plus Superannuation.
